Mayors highlight CAA Inland Empire’s third Leadership Roundtable
A small group of CAA Greater Inland Empire members broke bread with four local mayors Friday, Oct. 17, during the association’s third Leadership Roundtable of 2014.
With more than two elected officials taking part this time, organizers changed the format, pairing each member with a mayor during lunch. They got to spend nearly an hour together.
Besides rental housing and their properties, California Apartment Association members asked mayors about topics such as how they got into politics and their day jobs.
The event took place at the National Community Renaissance’s office in Rancho Cucamonga.
Participating mayors included Paul Leon (Ontario); Carey Davis (San Bernardino); Dennis Michael (Rancho Cucamonga); and Karen Spiegel (Corona).
“I’ve never been to a rental housing industry event; it was an honor and a privilege to attend the CAA AAGIE Leadership Roundtable,” Mayor Michael said. “CAA AAGIE and their members play a critical role in providing high-quality housing to my residents.”

The Leadership Roundtable program provides an intimate setting encouraging dialogue among state and local political officials and rental housing industry leaders. It provides a chance to discuss issues affecting the region, from housing to water to economic development.
“It was great to put titles aside and really learn about Ontario’s mayor, Paul Leon,” said Kourtney Law, regional portfolio manager for ConAm Management. “We wouldn’t have had this opportunity if not for CAA AAGIE’s increased government affairs efforts over the last two years.”
