RANCHO CUCAMONGA – The California Apartment Association – Apartment Association Greater Inland Empire proudly supports the re-election of Fred Shorett for San Bernardino City Council, 4th Ward, and Carey Davis for mayor.
Shorett was elected to the San Bernardino Council in 2009. He is a third-generation San Bernardino resident and small-business owner. He brings more than 30 years of local business experience to the City Council. Shorett is a decorated combat veteran who served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
Davis is a lifelong resident of San Bernardino. He now serves as the corporate controller for a U.S.-based window-and-door manufacturer and has more than 35 years of financial management and accounting experience. Davis is running on a platform to return San Bernardino to fiscal sanity by creating a sustainable budget while growing the city through new development.
“Fred and Carey are business-minded candidates who will protect property owners,” said Jennifer Bedford, chairwoman of CAA-AAGIE. “They have the leadership needed to put the city of San Bernardino on the right track to economic prosperity.”
Shorett and Carey head to separate runoff elections Tuesday, Feb. 4. Shorett was challenged by two opponents during the November primary election and received 48 percent of the vote. Carey received the second highest support – 68 fewer than the top candidate – out of nine candidates.
“CAA-AAGIE is proud to support the campaigns of Mr. Shorett and Mr. Davis and looks forward to working with them to streamline and update policies that unfairly target responsible property owners,” said Tim Johnson, executive director for CAA-AAGIE. “Our organization is responsible for protecting the interests of our members and ensuring they have a voice when it comes to local policies.”
