CAA lunch focuses on laws, helping veterans

Besides great barbecue, the menu for CAA’s end-of-the-year membership luncheon in Pleasant Hill this month included a rundown on new laws, tips on saving energy, and philanthropy for local veterans.

It was all served up Thursday, Nov. 13, at Back Forty Texas BBQ.

In the spirit of giving, apartment industry representatives presented two checks to HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing.

Attendees also learned about PG&E’s Multifamily Upgrade Program.

Like in other years, the donations came from the 2014 CAA Greater East Bay GEMM Awards Raffle. The contributions were made on behalf of CAA Contra Costa-Napa-Solano and the Rental Housing Association, Serving Southern Alameda County.

HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing provides rental assistance vouchers for homeless veterans, as well as case management and clinical services through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
