CAA Greater Inland Empire appoints new chair, board members

The CAA Greater Inland Empire Advisory Board has unanimously approved Kelly Vickers from Sares-Regis Group as chairwoman for 2016.

As a regional vice president for the Sares-Regis Group, Vickers oversees company operations in the Inland Empire and San Diego. She has more than 17 years of property management experience in both an on-site and multi-site capacity and previously worked for Lewis Management Corp., Beacon Property Management and Equity Residential Property Trust.

With CAA, Vickers served as vice chairwoman on the Inland Empire board for the last two years and currently chairs its political action committee.

Vickers said CAA Greater Inland Empire will continue to establish a strong political presence in the region, including key relationships with civic leaders and coalitions with partners in the housing industry.

“We must ensure we have a voice in every discussion about housing,” she said.

Also joining the Advisory Board are Daniel Lorraine, senior vice president of property management at National Community Renaissance (CORE), and Diana Hernandez, senior recruiter at Career Strategies.

Lorraine joined CORE in 2014 and oversees a portfolio of more than 9,000 units in California, Arkansas and Texas. He also leads the organization’s environmental-sustainability efforts.

Before CORE, Lorraine spent more than 25 years working in property management on the East Coast for companies including The Community Builders in Boston, Trans World Entertainment Corp. in New York and CVS Pharmacy in Rhode Island. With The Community Builders, he was responsible for nearly 9,000 units spanning 14 states and the District of Columbia.

“I am honored and excited to be on the Advisory Board and look forward to representing the CAA membership,” Lorraine said.

Fellow board newcomer Hernandez has been with Career Strategies for more than 10 years, where she identifies, evaluates and places professional talent exclusively in property management positions throughout the Inland Empire.

A philanthropist at heart, she said, “Coming from humble beginnings, I regularly seek opportunities to give back and as a board member, I look forward to supporting our new partnership with United Way Inland Empire.”

Hernandez volunteers at transitional homes, where she assists residents with resumes, confidence-building and interviewing skills.

“It’s my goal to make every person feel much more valuable, no matter where they come from.” she said.
