Real estate brokers and salespersons, when engaged in acts for which a license is required (this includes property management companies), must disclose their California Department of Real Estate License Number on all “solicitation materials” intended as the first “point of contact” with consumers (“consumers” includes the property owner clients of the management company.) Brokers and salespersons must also include their license number on all real property purchase agreements when acting as an agent in those transactions. (The law does not apply to unlicensed individuals: on-site property managers, for example, are not included because they do not engage in acts that require a license.)
