Since early 2007, the mortgage industry melt-down has generated an unprecedented number of foreclosures in California. While the greatest impact has been on owner-occupied, single family homes, some experts estimate that 20 to 25 percent of the homes facing foreclosure are tenant-occupied. This paper outlines the required disclosures and other legal mandates that govern the foreclosure process.
