Effective July 19, 2019, within the incorporated areas of the County of Los Angeles, the County prohibits discrimination based on a tenant’s source of income, including the receipt of housing subsidies, such as Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. (Los Angeles County Code Section 8.58.010-8.58.070.) A similar ordinance was passed for the City of Los Angeles and will take effect on January 1, 2020. (City of Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 45.65 -45.69.)
