ONTARIO — More than 130 rental housing professionals and local elected officials gathered Tuesday for the California Apartment Association’s annual economic forecast for the Greater Inland Empire. This year’s event, held at the DoubleTree, featured economist Jay Prag of Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker School of Management, and Michael Cobb, market analyst with CoStar Group.

The California Apartment Association has named Ben J. Benoit as its new vice president of public affairs in the Greater Inland Empire. Benoit, who began Jan. 3, comes to CAA’s Greater Inland Empire office with a history of service to his community. Benoit has served as a council member for the city of Wildomar and has brought a strong voice to many regional boards.

The California Apartment Association has named Matthew Buck as its new executive in the Greater Inland Empire. Buck assumed his new role July 1. Now vice president of public affairs, he previously served CAA members in the region as government affairs director. The Genesis House, a shelter that provides temporary housing in the Inland Empire, has reopened after a major renovation project partly shouldered by the California Apartment Association. The California Apartment Association’s Greater Inland Empire division, also known as CAA-AAGIE, partnered with HomeAid Inland Empire to overhaul the 60-year-old, uninhabitable eight-unit apartment building. HomeAid Inland Empire and CAA Inland Empire contributed more than $40,000 in construction money and obtained nearly $60,000 in in-kind donations of labor and materials.
