CAA co-hosts multifamily housing summit in Placer County

The California Apartment Association this month co-hosted a virtual housing summit for multifamily housing developers in the Placer County region. The July 24 meeting attracted elected officials from Placer County, Roseville and Rocklin, as well as city and county staff, and multifamily developers. During the meeting, developers, elected officials, and staff discussed ways to reduce financial and regulatory barriers to market-rate and affordable multifamily housing projects. Santa Rosa council tentatively approves permanent rent control

Despite vigorous opposition from CAA and the Santa Rosa business community, housing providers in the city are facing rent control for the long haul. After imposing the policy on a temporary basis, the City Council on Tuesday, Aug. 16, voted 4-2 to keep it in place. In May, the Santa Rosa council approved a moratorium on rent increases over 3 percent on pre-1995 multifamily housing. Dear Ms. Moss, I want to personally thank you for your timely and very professional response. You are very thorough AND you provide examples and attachments how to find solutions and how to address the issues effectively. What you did would have taken me hours of research and still I wouldn't feel as confident in my ability because I am not up to date on how certain areas of a contract are practiced.

I was wary about joining CAA but after today I know I did the right thing and plan on continuing my membership for a long time.
