Sebastopol to consider six more months of rent control

The Sebastopol City Council on Tuesday will decide whether to extend its temporary rent control ordinance by six months. If the council approves the extension, all Sebastopol multifamily housing providers with units built before 1995 will face a 3 percent limit on annual rent increases until May 2017. The California Apartment Association is calling on its members to attend the Dec. 6 meeting. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Sebastopol Youth Annex/Teen Center, 425 Morris St.

Council also looking at just-cause eviction, immediate rent moratorium The Sebastopol City Council on Tuesday began what is likely to be a lengthy conversation regarding rent control and just-cause eviction policies. At the Oct. 18, 2016, meeting, the council asked city staff to bring back some “options” for preserving affordable housing and preventing tenant displacement, including rent control and just cause.

I recently needed to take a few hours of classes to complete my Recertification as a CAA California Certified Residential Manager. Dear Ms. Moss, I want to personally thank you for your timely and very professional response. You are very thorough AND you provide examples and attachments how to find solutions and how to address the issues effectively. What you did would have taken me hours of research and still I wouldn't feel as confident in my ability because I am not up to date on how certain areas of a contract are practiced.
