California Apartment Association

Third property management webinar focuses on ending tenancy

The California Apartment Association today continues its property management webinars with its third installment: “Resident Issues & Ending the Tenancy (PMR102).”

The course teaches property management professionals to successfully interact with people and learn to handle residents’ requests, as well as special issues for the disabled.

Also, learn about terminating tenancy, identifying normal wear-and-tear, as opposed to damages, and dealing with security deposits.

Further, gain a greater understanding of how an agreement can be terminated.

The courses are divided into a pair of 90-minute sessions spread over two afternoons.

The first session of “Resident Issues & Ending the Tenancy (PMR102)” is at 1:30 p.m. today; the second session is at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Next week’s course, to be webcast at 1:30 pm. April 9 and April 11, focuses on “Professional Skills for Supervisors (PMR103).” The course covers building a team, setting goals and maximizing employee performance.

Learn about employment practices such as screening and hiring, the interview process and selecting vendors and contractors. Understand the importance of documentation and organizing operational, fiscal and historical records. Also, recognize the potential for theft and fraud.

Those who take all nine webinars become eligible for a California Certified Property Managers (CCRM) certificate.

Some students — not in search of a certificate — are picking and choosing the courses they want — simply to enhance their skills.

Be sure to register at least a half-hour prior to the start of the course. You’ll need at least this much time to download your materials and complete set-up on GoToTraining.
