A small group of CAA Greater Inland Empire members broke bread with California state Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown and Assemblyman Freddie Rodriguez last week.

The event, Friday, March 13, at the Ontario Double Tree, marked the CAA division’s first Leadership Roundtable of 2015.

The Roundtable came just a few days after CAA’s Legislative Conference, at which members from throughout the state visited with lawmakers at the Capitol.

The Leadership Roundtable offered a chance to discuss regional issues, from housing to water to economic development.

Although the Inland Empire delegation was unable to meet with Brown in Sacramento because of a scheduling conflict, the Roundtable provided another opportunity to meet with the lawmaker. Brown took more than an hour out of her schedule Friday to meet with CAA members back in her district.

The Leadership Roundtable provides an intimate setting that encourages dialogue among state and local political officials and rental housing industry leaders.

Moreover, it offers a chance to discuss issues affecting the region, from housing to water to economic development.

“Last years’ three Leadership Roundtables were so successful that we decided to continue with the program,” said Tim Johnson, executive director of CAA Greater Inland Empire. “We’re looking to have four in 2015, with the next one in June.”
