Expand your rental housing skills this spring, all from the comfort of your home or office.  In just two weeks, the California Apartment Association will launch its springtime property management webinars. You can take individual courses or the series in its entirety and qualify to become a California Certified Property Manager. The CCRM courses run from April 8 through June 26. A multifamily housing expert will provide an economic forecast for Orange County’s rental housing industry next week during a lunchtime workshop hosted by the California Apartment Association. This year’s first CAA industry partner meeting for the Inland Empire introduced a new format that features a panel discussion and afternoon networking reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The meeting, held at the DoubleTree Ontario on Tuesday, Feb. 18, attracted more than 50 industry partners of the California Apartment Association and garnered rave reviews. “I really enjoyed the new event format! More than 140 rental housing professionals heard from Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey late last month during the California Apartment Association’s inaugural Professional Property Managers Forum. San Diego Assemblywoman Toni Atkins, a proven ally of the California Apartment Association, has been selected as the next speaker of the California Assembly. First elected to the Assembly in November 2010, Atkins now represents the 78th Assembly District, which includes San Diego, Del Mar and La Jolla. CAA was among the first organizations to support Atkins’ bid for Assembly. Throughout her tenure in the Legislature, CAA has worked closely with her on a number of important rental housing issues.
